Basin or Corner Stand

This piece was also inspired by a John and Thomas Seymour original. Historically these stands would have held a pitcher of water, a porcelain wash basin and a dish of soap. I omitted the holders for the washing items in order to update the piece and make it more functional in today's home. The fully functional tambour door conceals a large opening to store serving items, candles, liquor or anything else you may wish to keep tucked away. The inlaid banding was all shop made, the inlaid Ionic columns with garlands are holly with sand shading.
