Art Nouveau furniture is known for its flowing lines and organic forms. In some expressions of the style, it can also be overwhelming and massive. This bed is based on a period design but, based on the client's input, I used lighter color materials for the frame and veneered panels and modified a few of the design elements to make the bed a bit more graceful. The carved foliage and calla lilies are additions to the original design that are consistent with the period and help tie together the overall design.
